creating boundless space in our lives

Making something out of nothing

Most people have noisy minds. They are entangled with forms and are constantly making stories–even though they have lived long enough in this world to know that things go wrong quite often. They want to change, manipulate, control forms whether they are people, circumstances, or events. They encounter frustration and resentment because no form lasts very long. They want to create something out of nothing. I say nothing, because ultimately, all forms are illusion. They come and go and then we are left with space or nothing.

Here’s a suggestion: instead of creating something out of  nothing, why not let things be? Why not let nothing be nothing and observe what happens? By bringing nothing or space to the foreground of your life, you are learning to align yourself with the universe. This frees up the universe to love you and care for you so that miraculous things happen to you. It may be a chance encounter with a stranger that leads to a new job. Or a friend who helps you out when you are sick and in the hospital. Life is always working for you. You don’t need to help it. The key is to observe the things that happen without getting entangled with them.  Try it now and see what happens.
